MAYORAL ELECTIONS.

POLLING TO-MORROW.

CONTESTS IN THREE BOROUGHS.

Mayoral elections will be held in the boroughs of Mount Eden, Mount Albert, and Takapuna to-morrow. In the city, Devonport, Birkenhead. Newmarket, Grey Lynn. Northcote, Onchunga, and Otahuhu district no elections will be necessary, as only one nomination for the Mayoralty has been received in each case. Two candidates—Mr. 0. Nicholson (who is the present. Mayor) and Mr. John Davis (a former member of the council)— contest the Mount Eden election. The polling places will be:—Borough Council office. Valley Road; Shale's shop, comer Edenvalo Road and Mount Eden Road; Teuton's store, corner Stoke's Road and Mount Eden Road; Terminus Tearooms, tram terminus, Mount Eden Road; Stratum's shop, Dominion Road, opposite View Road; Druid's Lodge. Hellaby'a Buildings, corner Valley Road and Dominion Road; Jones's shop, corner King Edward Street and Dominion Road; Griflin's shop, tram terminus, Dominion Road.

Two nominations, those of Mr. M. J. Coyle (the sitting Mayor) and Mr. Murdoch McLean were received for the Mount Albert contest. In the case of this district the polling booths will bo situated as follows:—Council office, New North Road, Morningside; Can's shop, next Post Office, Mount Albert; marquee, comer 1 New Bond Street and main road, Gleninore; McQuillan's shop, New Edcndale Road, near corner Burnley Terrace; Presbyterian schoolroom, Balmoral Road, Kdemlale North. Messrs. William Blomfield and Aiulus Raynes are the candidates for the Mayoralty of Takapuna. The polling places will be at the Parish Hall, Katrine Street, tho Belmont Presbyterian Church, Lake Road, and at the Chamber of Commerce, Swanson Street, city. In addition to these Mayoral elections, there will be an election of one councillor for the Onehunga Borough' Council, the two candidates being: Messrs. W. J. Brewin and T. H. Pardington. The elected Mayors will assume office on May 6. The polling hours to-morrow will be between tho hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
