C£X!ST,inrj2CH; Thursday. The death is announced of Mrs. Dobson, widow of the late Mr. Edward Dobson, for many years chief engineer of: Canterbury, at the : age of 92.r The 1 late : Sirs. Dobsos was married in England. v Her husband I came" out to New Zealand •in the Creasy, one of the first four chips, and was accompanied by his two sons, v ; V' "Mrs. -:Dobson, arrived in New Zealand in 1852, in .the Fatima, bringing -three other children. • Five' children ■' were lorn in the colony,. making » family tf 10 | altogether. They are Mr. George DobI son,'-, engineer, killed by a bushranging gang on the West Coast in 1866; Mr. A. D. Dobson, city engineer of. Christchnrch ; Lady Van Haast, who died in England recently; Mrs. Charles Todhunter,"at present residing in Cliristchirrch; Mr.'' Edward '• Dobson, . farmer, , how in the North Island; ;Mrs. Weedon, now residing in England; Mr. Robt. Dobson, who died in Napier some years ago, "and. who;had. a good deal to do'with starting the frozen: meat industry in this country ; Mas. Hogben, wife .of :i\ the -„< inspector-general fof schools; Herbert Dobson, freezing works engineer at Gisboriift and Mr. Collet Dobson, who is at present in Australia.
