AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.
Tiite Auckland Presbytery met last night. The moderator (Rev. Jas. Milne) presided. A vote of sympathy was passed with the Rev. W. Thompson, of Waipu, who is at present seriously ill. It was decided to recommend that the Foreign Mission Committee appoint a successor to the Chinese missioner (Mr. T. E. Loie), who recently accepted a position in Sydney. Mr. James Chisholm, convener of the Theological College Committee, wrote asking for pecuniary help from the Presbytery towards the upkeep of scholarships in connection with the college. It was resolved that the managers' courts of tie city churches be asked to each contribute a bursary to the fund. Revs. A, Miller and W. 'Trotter were appointed a bursary committee to further the fund. It was decided to grant £60 out of the new century fund towards the building of a church at Brigham's Creek, near Hobsonville. A monument to the memory of the late Rev. 1). J. Steele is to Be unveiled at Howick on March 31.
The plans for the new church hall at Mount Albert were approved.
