EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
[FROM OUR OWJT COnRBSPOSDENT.] CAMBniDGE, Tuesday. The thirty-second week of the North Island Egglaying Association's third competition was concluded on Friday last. The highest layings for the week were:—Championship clans : J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 27. Light breeds : 'A. H. Padman's white Leghorns, 32; W. G. Care's white Leghorns. 30; Mrs. J. Salt's white Leghorns, 29; Clark and Sons' white Leghorns, 29. Heavy breeds: J. Peppercorn's black Orpingtons, 30; T. M. Thompson's black Orpingtons, 26; .1. I. Whitehouse's buff Orpingtons, 24; Miss D. Roberta' silver Wyandotte*, 24! The leading pens at date are:— Championship class; J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 762. Light breeds: W. Runciman's brown Leghorns. 827; A. H. Padman's white Leghorns, 821; Raglan County Chronicle's white Leghorns, 799. Heavy breeds: F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons, 884; U. M. Peek's black Orpingtons, 728; W. D. Shepherd's black Orpingtons, 725. Duck Competition : S. H. Scott's Indian Runners, total for week 34, grand total 1099; W. Knight's Indian Runners, 26—1110 T.
