A meeting of members of the Auckland; Amateur Athletic • and Cycle Club will bo held in the rooms of tho Amateur Spovti Club; oil Monday evening next, for the purpose of considering the advisability of holdin? a spring: carnival this year. ■ The Feilding Athletic Club has issued ail attractive programme for the Sports Carnival' to bo held oil Boxing Day (Decern 6). In all twenty-nine events: nro listed, the principal races for pedestrians and cyclists being as under:—Pedestrian events: , Sheffield Handicap, 120 yds, first prize £12, second £6,' third £3; Manchester Handicap, one mile, first prize £16 and gold medal, second £5, third £3: I'eilding Handicap, half-mile, first . prize £10, second - £4, third £2: School Challenge Shield, (three events); Girls' Race, 100 yds, under 14; Oroua Handicap, 440vds, first prize £8, second £3, third £2. Cycling • events: Bicycle Kace, two miles, first prize £0, second £4, third , £2; Bicycle Race, 1£ miles, first prize £6, second £3, third £1; Biovcle Race, three miles, first prize £6. second £5, third £1. Nominations for all handicap events close with the secretary (Mr. W. J. B. Trewin),'on Thursday. December 7. Post entries will bo received for other events. * . According to exchanges the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club's Carnival to be held on the Basin Reserve, to-day tJ be a very successful gathering.
