OLD AGE PENSIONS.
Mr. Brabant, S.M., continued his investigations respecting old age pensions for the Auckland district yesterday until after six o'clock in the evening. Mr. King, on behalf of the Department, and Mr. John Srathern, of the Charitable Aid Board, were in attendance. The Court granted pensions to the following claimants for the full amount of £18;— William Hamylyn, John Winteringham, Maurice Regan, Harriet Hare, Jesse Sage, Honora Mary Sage. Mary Collins, Thos. Jeffery, John Whiteside, Michael Galvin, Denis Herlihy, Jane Murphy, Adam Cantlon, Michael McHale, William Mitchell, Alice McGrath, Sarah Southerby, Eliza Ann Christmas, Frederick Christmas, Sarah Christie, Catherine Donaldson, Eliza Abcry, Wm. Robinson, Mary Gorman, Honora Lorrigan, Charlotte Beake, Sophia Sarah Stothard, Martha Ann Jeffery, Elizabeth Cantlon, Jane Whiteside, James Nugent Copland, Elizabeth beth Copland, Henry Gidley, Thomas Wallace, James Conley. Janet Fleming, Patrick Ahem, Benjamin Bullen, Elizabeth Bats, William James Farrenden, Charles Smith, Henry Hunter, Matthew Carroll, James Harris, John Austin, Thomas Burns. Smaller pensions were granted as follows: Stephen Hooker, £16; John Burns, £16; Catherine Carin, £15; John Drake Fox Hurley, £15;! Charles Owen Mclntyre, £13; Harriet Hurlov, £13 ; Joseph Lowndes, £13 ; Henry Trimmer, £10; William Tate, £6. Owing to the number of petitions which were not reached at half-past six p.m., Mr. Brabant decided very considerately to take all applications not heard at three o'clock to-morrow afternoon, at which hour those interested should be punctually in attendance.
