Sydney, September 14. The weather is still fine. This morning The Dancer led Response in a mile gallop in a shade under ltn. 51s. Loyalty and Lannceston put in a pood spin once round. The former is looking very fit. Royal Rose beat Nightingale over the same distance. Paris negotiated once round in great style in 2m. 375, Florrie doing the same distance in 4£s. longer. Waterbury and Mutiny were schooled over the steeplechase track. The former tell heavily. Oxide was in excellent form. The following is the latest betting on the Metropolitan Stakes '■— 10 to 1 against Paris and Royal Rose, 12 to 1 Lady Trenton, 14 to 1 Oxide, Florrie, and The Trier. Later. The weather is not at all promising for tomorrow's racing, steady rain having set in this afternoon.
