[BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Friday. At a meeting of the Hamilton Rowing Club, Mr. Mounier in the chair, it was resolved to accept the offer of the Auckland Rowing Club for the sale of one four-oared, one pairoared outrigger, and one sculling boat, subject to the offer of £25 remaining open for a month to enable the Hamilton club to raise the money by subscription. It was also resolved that the entrance to the club be 10a, and a yearly subscription of 10s 6d. About twenty members have joined. A committee was formed, consisting of Messrs. Bindon, Greene, Burnand, Holloway, Mounier, Edgecumbe, and Wallnutt ; the latter was also appointed Secretary and Treasurer The Secretary was instructed to procure the rules of the various rowing clubs; meanwhile tlie Canterbury Club rules to be adopted. At a meeting of the Tamahere Farmers' Club, this evening, a warm discussion arose on the neglect of the Government in using ordinary diligence in completing the Cambridge and Hamilton railway line. It was shown that the railway bridge was so nearly completed that Government might next week be sending sleepers and rails for the permanent way along the line, and that instead of having contracts ready for this work tenders were not yet even called for, which would cause an unnecessary delay of between two and three months. A resolution was passed asking the member for Waikato to urge the matter on the Government. A similar discussion took place and resolutions were passed at the last meeting of the Tamahere Road Board. The delivery of letters in Hamilton starts on Monday—a morning delivery at eleven a.m. through the principal streets of both townships, and an afternoon delivery after the arrival of the Auckland mail, from Gallo-way-street on the east to Selkirk-street on the west.
