New Zealand Herald Office. Friday evening. The duties to-day amounted to £892 15a sd. Ma. R. Arthur's Weekly Report.—A fair amount of business has been done in all departments. Good cheese is in fair demand, but sccond-class and inferior difficult to clear off at low prices. The same may be said of bacon. Batter still a drag, at low prices. Potatoes are quiet. Fruit not in great demand. Monday : Sale of furniture, etc., at a private house in Wellesley-street. The attendance was large, prices ruled high. Tuesday : Sale of furniture, at mart. A large attendance, prices good. Wednesday: Sale of trees, etc., from Mr. W. Mason's Ponsonby Nursery. A fair attendance. A large quantity sold at average prices. Thursday: A sale of frnit. A pood number of the trade and others were present. Prices ruled low. Friday: Sale of poultry, produce, etc., at Hart. A very large number were present, and a fair business was done, 'flie importod fowls from Mr. D. Robertson, was a gre*t attraction. The major portion sold at satisfactory prices.
