SALES BY AUCTION. I Jane 20. Mr. G. Sibbin sold by auction to-day, on account of whom it may concern, 656 sacks potatoes, ex Forest Queen, which made such a long trip, and had to contend against very heavy weather, fron' Lyttelton. The prices obtained ranged from £2 12s 6d to £"2 17a 6d per ton. 'Mr. G. Lewis held a sale at his rooms to-day ! of American organs. The prices obtained were fairly satisfactory. Jnne 21. Mr. G. Lewis held a sale of bent wood chairs, and, on account of whom it might concern, lbale assorted flannel and 3 cases oil paintings, at his rooms to-daj. There was a good attendance, and the piices realised were fairly good. Mr. J. W. Laurie held a Bale of green fruit, ex Manapouri, from Hobart, today. There was a good attendance, and prices ranged from 6s 6d to 9a 6d per case. June 27. Messrs. B. Tonks and Co. held a tnde sale to-day of whisky, brandy, geneva, and other spirits, also of ales and Btoutß. There was a good attendance of the trade, and fair prices were obtained, Mr. G. W. Binney sold, to-day, at his rooms, 343 casen apples, at from 6s to LLs 6d per case. There was a large attendance. July 3. Messrs. J. Reidand Co. held a sale of mirrors, toilet glasses, &c., at their warehouse, to-day. The prices realised were fairly satisfactory. Messrs. S. Cochrane and Co. sold by auction, at their rooms, a consignment of watches, musical instruments, &c. There was a fair attendance, and the prices obtained were satisfactory. Messrs. B. Tonks and Co.'a sale of perfumery, varnish, &c., to-day, was well attended, and the prices obtained are accepted as satisfactory. Fair pricss were obtained at Mr. G. Lewis' sale of bedsteads, &c., at his rooms to-day. The attendance was good. July 5. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs held an extensive • sale of English-made furniture, &c., at their sale rooms, Queen-street, and report that the attendance was very large, the bidding spirited, and the prices realised were satisfactory. The whole of the goods catalogued were not disposed of, but will be offered at a future date. Mr. G. W. Binney held a sale of pcarlshell, ex schooner Pirate, from South Sea Islands, today. There was a good attendance, and bidding was spirited. The lot realised £90 per ton. This is the first sale of pearlshell that has yet been held in this port. July 6. Mr. K. C. Greenwood held a sale of the leases of certain Harbour Board properties to-day. The sale was well attended and the following prices were obtained. The lots offered were for leases of 50 years, subject to an increase of 50 per c>nt. at the end of 21 years. Lot 51, at the junction of Queen, Quay, and Little Queen streets, with 26 feet frontage, brought £i 5 per foot per annum, Edward B. Reynolds being the purchaser. This is the highest price yet realised for any of the Harbour Board allotments. Allotment 28, Customhouse-street, sold for £3 5s per foot per annum to Mr. C. J. Hutchinson ; while lota 1, 2, and 3, at the Pilot Station, North Shore, were purchased by Mr. John Lamb at an annual rental of £1210 a, £12 10s, and £12 . 15s respectively. July 10. Messrs. E. and A. Isaaos have to report on their sale in the insolvent estate of A. J. Mackie (on the_ premises), all shop fixtures, counter, chandeliers, &c. Price realised was fairly up to expectations. Also, the stock, consisting of tobacco, cigars, and a quantity of tobacconist sundries. There was a large attendance, and the Bala was very Batisfactory. They also ! quitted a new tobacco-cutting machine belonging to the same estate. ~ _ July 11. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs held a sale of the balance of £1400 value of English made furniture at their rooms, Queen-street, and report the trade was well represented, the attendance large, and the prices realised were considered satisfactory. Messrs. B. Tonks and Co. held a large fruit sale to-day, consisting of 200 cases of Hobart apples and 120 cases Sydney oranges at satisfactory rates. Sixteen organs were sold, but the prices ruled low. The clearing out sale of furniture at the Old House at Home was numorously attended, and the furniture and bar fittings brought high prices. Mr. K. Arthur held a sale of forest and fruit trees, plants, and shrubs to-day, from Mnaor.'s I'onsonby Nursory. The trees were sound and healthy, and met with a readv sale at fair prices, July IJJ. Messrs. E. A. Isaacs held a very extensive auction sale yesterday of cnrrants, raisins, dates etc., for the benefit of whom concerned ; also a large quantity of general groceries and oilmen's stores. The trade was well represented, and thora was great competition in the bidding The sale was very satisfactory, amounting to about £500.
