Poultry of good condition sold well. Potatoes are firm, and in good demand. A line of Canterbury, sold from the ship's side at £6; Auckland-grown, the best samples, bring £0 to £6 10j. Cheese is still scarce; a shipment from Canterbury cleared out at 81 to Sid. Bacon is wanted, some of medium quality sold at B£<l to S£d by the case. But little demand for salt butter. Flour and oats, difficult to sell at any price, unless of first-class quality.
