PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. ’ ) By John Williamson, Esquire, Snpcrjndent of the Province of Auckland. WHEREAS a majority of the persons occupying property liable to be rated under the provisions of the “ Local Improvement Act, 1858,” having a frontage to Eden Crescent from Short-street to the Eastern corner of Mr. Nathan’s large Building, and occupying at least one-half of the frontage to the said . portion of the said Crescent, have represented to me that they arc willing to be specially rated for the purpose of forming and metalling that portion of Eden . Crescent aforesaid. , Now therefore I, the said Superintendent, for the , purpose of raising one moiety of the estimated cost of , the said Improvements, do hereby, by virtue of the ! powers and authority to me by the said Act given, order and direct that an equitable rate, at the sum of one shilling and four pence for every foot of frontage to the said portion of Eden Crescent, be levied upon all real property having a frontage to the ; said portion of the said Crescent, except upon such land its is by the said Act excepted. And I do hereby appoint that the said rate shall be paid and payable to Robeut Baillik Lusk on the twelfth i day of June next; and Ido hereby further give notice that in the Schedule hereunder written is set forth a list of the names of the persons liable for the payment of such rate, and the amount payable by each such person.
