The prisoners describe it as " a hell," Commandant Bestei was killed, and Field Cornets Taljaard Priusloo, and Oberdaal were captured. De Wet had intended a big move wbei his guns were captured, and the drivi prevented him from creeping eastward. Prisoners estimate that there are 12,0J( Boers still in the field. De Wet has somi K'app guns hidden.
