The mail for Blenheim and Wellington, per Lyttelton, closes at 4 p.m. to-morrow. It appears from the W. E. Post that Captain Leatham's troop of the Defence Force •will probably be disbanded at the end of the month*, but in the meantime, though on pay, they are put to great expense by remaining in town, as, neiiher quarters nor ratious being supplied by t.he Government, the men are at the expense of their own board and lod'ni'ST in the (iifierent hotels a.ud boarding houses of the' city.
