Captaiu Kennedy, late of the Marine Board, has assumed the command of the P.N.Z. and A.B.M. Company's s.s. Lord Ashley, and Captain Hagley will take over charge of the s.s. Tararua from Captain Ferguson, who has been appointed the company's agent in Melbourne. The N.Z. Herald, records with pleasure the promotion of a new steam navigation company to the East Coast, capital £4,500. The names of the committee are a guarantee of successful enterprise. Amongst them are Col. Harrington, Chairman ; Captain Goldsmith, Messrs. T. Wrigley, D. Henderson, E. G-. Norris ; Capt. W. Fraser, Secretary ; Capt. James Skeene, Treasurer. On the arrival of the Albion, in Melbourne, on her last trip, it was announced that Mr. Thomas Hatfield had died on board.
