On the occasion of the recent visit of the Rev. J. Copeland, of the New Hebrides Mission, some of the members of St. Paul's Presbyterian congregation, Christchurch, subscribed the sum of £45, to be paid upj by annual instalments, for the ship Day Spring, engaged in carrying provisions, etc., for the missionaries, and taking the missionaries from one place to another ; also two of the members undertook' to pay annually, for an indefinite period, the salary of one native teacher, and the children of the Sabbath school gave Mr. Copeland, from the proceeds of their missionary box, three pounds towards th e'.funds of this important mission.
