E. M. Court. — On Thursday last Eobert Welsh, cook and steward of the schooner Deesse, complained against Captain Scott for an assault. Complainant said, as he was in the act of preparing potatoes for dinner, with a bucket of water at his side, the captain came and asked him when he would get the cabin done out. He replied as soon as he got dinner put away. The captain then threw the bucket and water at him without any provocation. The captain bad previously ordered him. to clean the cabin, which he promised to do as soon as be got dinner ready, on -which the captain threatened him with a thrashing. John Porter, a seaman, corroborated this evidence. The Bench fined the defendant one shilling and costs.
