A Wild Beast Fight. — In two compartments, one above the other, of a caravan at Manders' menagerie, a leopard and a hy?ena were recently confined — the former in the lower and the latter in the upper compartment. During the night of Thursday the hysena tore up the floor of its cage so as to he able to get his head through. It would then appear that the leopard beneath seized it by the throat, and a terrific struggle ensued. The noise alarmed the watchman, and Mr. Mauders and others came to the spot. It was then found that the leopard had pulled the hysena through the floor, and so tenacious was its hold {that, although Mr. Manders freely used a heavily loaded riding whip on its head and shoulder, the hytena was quite dead before they could beat the leopard off.
