Tin-: Balclotiia. — This favorite steamer has been thoroughly overhauled, and on Saturday made a trial trip previous to her departure for King George's Sound. She has had new furnaces, &c., and the engines examined. Her rate of speed on the measured mile was over twelve knots. Boat Race for £100. — A pair-oared race for £50 a-side, between Donnelly and Connor v. Booker and M'Cleer, came ofl' on the usual course on the Parraciatta river, on Saturday afternoon, which resulted in a victory to M'Clecr and Booker. After a false start they managed to get off ail right, with M'Clecr and Booker slightly leading; upon passing' the wharf they were over half a boat's length ahead, which lead was increased oy the time they reached the next point to over a foot clear — although at no time during the race were they more than a boat and a-half a-head. On passing Gladesville Connor and Donnelly put on a spurt and drew up alongside their opponents, who, however, after a little time got away again, and arrived at the winning point about 25 yards ahead. — S.
