UNIONIST CAMPAIGN.
PUBLIC DEMONSTRATIONS ORGANISED.
LONDON, June 11. Sir Edward Carson announces that the Irish Unionists are abandoning reliance on Parliamentary proceedings against Home Rule, and instead are appealing to the people of Great Britain by means of public meetings, opening to-day with demonstrations in the Midlands and Scotland.. There was an enthusiastic send-off given at Euston to eighteen Unionists who are beginning the campaign in the principal English towns against Home Rule. Lord Lansdowne, Lord Londonderry, and Sir Edward Carson will address an Orange demonstration at Belfast on July 12. Sir Edward Carson, speaking at Rugby, said it was no longer possible to speak effectively in the House of Commons. The Unionists were now appealing to the British democracy on behalf of the Irish democracy
