(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright)
LONDON, June 11
While Mr Asquith was addressing the Commons yesterday, a man named Lawrence Mervin, a member of the Men's Suffragist Society, threw a bag of flour from the strangers' gallery. It missed Mr Asquith and burst close to the Speaker's chair. Mervin also showered hand bills on members and shouted something about Davison. Mr Asquith, with a characteristic shrug of his shoulders, continued his speech amid cheers. Mervin has been detained. Suffragettes set fire to a confessional box of the historic Saint Hubert's church at Great Harwood. The damage was slight. Kitty Marion, an actress ,and Clara Giveen have been remanded on bail of £3000 each on the charge of firing Hurst Park pavilion. The material found there corresponded with some found in Marion's room.
