Story Of The Pursuit,

Capture Of The Admirals.

Sydney, Last Night. The Japaneso Consul has received tho following advice :—, .-

"After .accepting tho surrender of the remaining Russian main force near Liancourt rocks on the afternoon of the 28ib, as already reported, we stopped the pursuit. ■'• While engaged in disposing of the surrendered ships, we saw in a southwestern direction the coast defence ship Admiral Ushakoff.-' Thereupon the cruisers Iwate and Yakurno were immediately . despatched in pursuit. Tho Russian ship was invited to surrender but tho invitation being refused, tho Japanese cruisers sank her and rescued her remaining crew of over three hundred men. ;

"The cruiser Dometri Don«koi was also found at 5 p.m;- in a north-west direction. She was immediately overtaken and fired at vigorously; by our fourth division and eecond destroyor flotilla. She was attacked at night by our second destroyer flotilla, and was. found next morning aground •on the uhoro of Urclußg Island, on tho Koroan coast. 11 The destroyer Sayanam was cap? tured towards tho evening of the 27th in the south of Urolung Island. "Off the Korean coast there was captured the Russian destroyer Bilovy, wherein were found Admiral Rozhdestvensky and another admiral, both sovorely wounded, togother with 80 Kussians, including the staff officers from the flagship Kniaz Suyaroff, which was eunk on tho 27th. They were all taken prisoners by tho cruiser Nitaka. " The dc-stroyer Murakumo was at- | tacked also at noon on the 28th by a Russian destroyer, which finally went Bground. " According to tho prisoners tho O^Jabia was sunk at 3 p.m. on the 27th. Thß Navarin was also sunk. The Alinaz waa observed on the 27th in n disabled and sinking condition, but her final fate is unknown. " Full . particulars regarding tho injuries to oui ships is not yot to hand, but so far as can be ascertained none aro seriously iujured. "All being st;l! engaged in operation?, the wholo casuilies have not been ascertained. Those ofj,he first division total a liUlo over 400.
