Autumn Meeting.
The programme for the Autumn meeting of the Manawatu Eaoing Clnb on April sth and 6th is published in this morning's issue. A rise in prize money is made in every race, and the lowest stake now on either day is 70 soys. Some ot the races also have been re-named. The prize money in the big event, the "First Manawatu Stakes," is 500 soys, and the second horse will receive 100 soys, and the third 50 soys out of the stakes, The race ia a weight for age event, with penalties and allowances. On the same day the Champion Hack Plate, for three-year-olds and upwards, will be run, the stake being 200 soys. This is also a weight-for-age race. The principal event on the second day is the Autumn Handicap of 200 soys, for a mile and a quarter. The Second Handicap Hurdles and the Farewell Welter each have been allocated prize money of 100 soys.
Acceptances for the First Manawatu Stakes and final payments for the Champion Stakes close on Monday.
