Harry Palmer reports as follows ;— H Our mart was crowded to the utmost, - H a large entry of pigs and poultry and a H big drapery sale no doubt being respon- H sible. The quality of pigs* offered? wa« H on the whole excellent,, and every line ~H was sold at what must be considered ;^J good prices. ■ ' "'..'■ ';>>-.•.;. r :H We quote—Weaners 13s, one line only H offered. Stores 18s to 245, porkers 25s . H to 335, baconers 40s, number offered 56. • ' H In poultry the prices all round showed . H a decided improvement. The competi- ■'"''^B tion on some lines being exceptionally -^^M keen. The quality also was splendid. H Ducks still fetoh a good price, the de- I mand for duoks and good cockerels being H unsatisfactory. We quote—Good young hens 3s 6d to 4s 6d, inferior sorts 2s 3d to 2s 9d, cockerels 3s to 6s 6d, ducks 4s Id to ss, half-grown birds Is to 2s per pair. All lines of produce sold equally well, on'.ons and potatoes increasing in value, On Wednesday we held a sale.of cows for Mr Flynn, prices being good, running from £5 to JEIO 2s 6d. Sows were in great demand— £7 3s, £6 6s, £6, and £4: each; porker J9l 7s, weaners 12b, ; All other lines at good prices. . ' On Friday last we held^a sale of cows for Mr Golding, being sold.at "prices from £410s to £10. •; '~: i::';. ,S
