The Sunday School anniversary celebrations of the Baptist Church wore continued on Wednesday evening'. Hie weather proved to bo all that could l>c desired, and the gathering' was the best on record. It was especially encouraging io the teachers and superintendent that the anniversary ISI7 proved a phenomenal success. 'I he number of children who gathered lor the tea was so far beyond expectations that fresh supplies of food had to be sought for. After the tea the usual imblic meeting was held, the chief feature, being the Muffing'of the children under the leaoeiMiip of Mr Hinton, who received wlmh-heart wl thanks from the Sunday School stall loi his great elForl. .. The chair was occupied by the Ke\. Fordo Carlisle, and the Rev. Krie Evans, of Potonc, gave an address. Recitations ■were given by Ruth Broad, Garth A into head and Ken Grover. Tn the absence of the secretary (Mi Gibbs), Air Ralph gave the annual report, showing an increase of 14 scholars for toe year. 'One of the chief features of too year's work was the amount raised by ue children for foreign missions, the sum 01 £32 7s 6.1 being forwarded to the missionary movement of the Baptist Union.
