GREY ELECTION.
WRIT WILL PROBABLY ISSUE NEXT WEEK. It is understood that the resignation of Mr P. C. Webb, member for Grey, is now on the way to Mr Speaker. If it is in order it mav be taken for granted that, tlie writ for a new fleet ion will be issued _ next week. Not less than twelve days’ notice must be given of the election, and the writ must be returnable in twenty eight days. It is usual }o allow i! week after the polling day m which to prepare the official returns, and in tlii~ case it will no doubt be, considered desirable to have the. returns in and every thing washed tip a- few days before the Christmas holidays. Assuming that it is decided to make the writ returnable on December 19, which M >fm, a probable date, flection day may be Wednesday. December 12.
