SEQUEL TO GISBORNE FIRE.
CHARGES OF ARSON. (Pan Psasa Association.! GISBORNE, Nov. 16. The case of Frank Parnell, charged with setting lire to the gas works office, wat> heard before the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Mr Barton, S.M.. hold that a print* facie ca.sc had not been made out, and discharged accused. John Sheriff Doris, another employee of the Company, was charged with embezzling various amounts, the total involved between March, 1916, and May, 1916, being £1713. . Accused pleaded guilty on the first, series of charges, and was committed for sentence. , Accused was also charged with arson, and the case is proceeding.
