The annual meeting of shareholders of the Apiti Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, was hdd in the Oddfellows' Hall, on the 25th. Tho. report showed thb quantity of milk received to be 4,529,86-1. lbs, whioh prvdueed 178,326-.781bs of butter-fat, from which was manufaciured 200,8561bs of commercial butter, being '.an average of 22'51bs cf- milk' to lib cf butter~every lb of butter-fftt producing 1121bs of hotter. The average prico paid for butter-fat was 7'4ld. per lb, und the average test was 4-042. Mr Falconer, the ma*>»gß_, has been retained for next season. Whilst prices of butter consignments had been very low, the directors had received excellent reports of the qualhy 0 f the article. - The amount paid to suppliers totalled £5506 3s 7d, while the sales of butter realised £7642 Os 6d. The receipts for the year were £7859 16s sd, and the expenditure £'7871 2s 10d, leaving a debit balance of £11 8i sd. She following «c the directors for the ensuing . year :—>H Osborne (chairman), G. Messrs Stephens Bros, have presented a handsome sdvor challenge cup, valued at about twenty guineas, for competition 4 between the members of the Mounted Rifles and the Rifle Ohib. They have, also, given handsome trophies to the troop and the ciub for comneti ion. Tde first competition for Mr Tout's cup was fired off on Saturday and was won by Trooper Hayward.
