A team will be picked from the following to represent J. - Bett and Co. against Mr Browning's employees, in a match to be played on the Showground on Saturday :—Cornish, Ayers, Douglas, Brough, Elliott, Peterson, Graham, ColKngwood(2), Dave, Park, Voss, Dudson, Owen, Thompson, Spinley. At a meeting of the Manawatu South African Veterans' Association last night, it was decided to play a football match with the Palmerston Rifles on the Showground next Saturday, at 8.30 p.iri. The following team, will represent the Returned Troopers -.—Bond, Hammer, Tyrcll, Cox, Skelly,- Johnston, Stewart, F. Baker, Dilks, Bateman, Kennedy (2), Neill, Mends, and Cope. Emergencies : Preece, Cameron, Blake, Anderson, and Buick. Colours will be red and black, Old Boys having kindly lent their jerseys for the match. The smoke concert "will be held in about two weeks'time, the committee will decide the date on Saturday night.. "■ . ■
