London, December 19,
At a pro-Boer meeting at the Bu-rn-inghxm Town Hall many Unionists gained admission. They assailed Mr De Lloyd George, member of the House of Commons for Carnarvon, with cries of " traitor," and prevented him speaking. Mr George escaped in policeman's clothes.
There were 40,000 outside, who smashed the windows, and carried a vote of conOdenco in the Government. Rioting followed, breaking up Ihe meeting inside the building.
The indiguation which characterised the meeting was largely duo to Mr George's previous attitude, coupled with attempts by Sir Chas. CampbellBamievman's supporters to interpret Lord Rosebery's speech with, leanings ill their direction.
