BOOTMAKERS' FEDERAL COUNCIL.
Christchuech, September 12. At a meeting of the Bootmakers' Federal Council on Saturday evening it was agreed to the date fixed by the Conference m Wellington on the 19th September. A resolution was also passed deeply regretting the attitude of Sir G. Grey m harrassing and obstructing Liberal measures brought forward by the present Government, and considered his conduct as not consistent with his previous expressions. The Council also expressed its syronaJths -with, theof. -Auckland m the failure of the conciliatory mea&ttres, and tha refusal of employers to submit to arbitration, and hoped the Tailoresses' Union would be successful m the courss they proposed to take.
