WAIRAU ROAD BOARD.

, The adjourned meeting of the Board t was held yesterday afternoon ; present, Messr3 J. Ward (chairman), Avery, i Goulter, and Richardson. 1 MB HISLOP'S BILL. The Alteration of Counties' Boundaries Bill, introduced by Mr Hislop, was discussed, and tho Board re--1 solved : " That, m the opinion of this '. Board, the alteration of boundaries proposed by Mr Hielop'a Bill would be fonnd very oppressive and unfair to the Wairau Road Board, inasmuch as it would add to the district the road from, the Tophouse to Tarndale (a most expensive road to maintain), without appreciably increasing the an nnal rate's, and the Board considers - present boundary line. a much more equitable division, as tbe road abovo mentioned, being usad by Nelson settlers, should be maintained by that district rather than the Marlborough, to which ifc is of no benefii ? moreover, as the country at the head of the Acheron is worked from this diatriot by a road through Saxon's Pass, and also track over the Waihopai Saddle, it \fcQuld be unreasonable for the ' Amuri to take possesion of a country which pays rates for (he maintenance of thesferoads."— lt was resolved that a copy of this -resolution be sent to Mr Dodson, M.H.R. MISCELLANEOUS. It was resolved to call for tenders for a concrete culvert at Dead Horse Creek; to have the survey squares .of , the county mounted on calico with rollers ; to have the road above Mr .
