AN EXPLANATION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Sir,—Simpson's Trustees v. Harding.— Permit me to correct an error in your report of what I said to the bench at the conclusion of this case. What I said was, that the " evidence was a surprise," not upon me, but " upon us," meaning my client, Mr Louisson, as well as myself. Your obedient servant, CHAS. J. FOSTER.
