The s.s. Storm Bird, Capt Doile, arrived in harbour yesterday morning at 11 o'clock from Dunedin. Cleared Otago heads at 11 a.m. on Tuesday; experienced fine weather; sailed for Wellington at 3 p.m. THEHydaspes is rapidly loading, having now upwards of 2000 bales on board ; the Blue Jacket has also commenced loading, and will have quick despatch; the Glenmark has nearly finished discharging her inward cargo. The s.s. Phoebe, Captain Kennedy, arrived in harbour at 3.30 yesterday from Dunedin; left Bluff harbour at 4.30 p.m. on Jan. 3; had strong E.N.E. breeze j at 8 p.m., rounded Slop point, encountering strong N.E. winds, and having head sea up to midnight, when a thick fog set in; passed the Nuggets at 3.45 a.m. on the 4th; rounded Cape Saunders at 11.20 a.m., and arrived at Otago heads at 12.20 p.m. The bar being signalled as dangerous, hove-to till 4.30 p.m., and anchored at Port Chalmers at 5.15 p.m same day; left at 5 p.m. on the sth, with light S.W. breeze, clear and calm, arriving at Lyttelton as above. We are obliged to Mr Raymond, purser, for files.

During the gale on the 3rd inst., we hear that a five-ton boat, belonging to Mr Waeckerle, broke from her moorings at Akaroa, and- drifted on to the rocks at Wainui, greatly damaging one of her sides. Our correspondent, writing from Little Akaloa on Jan. 4, sends the following particulars of the wreck of the ketch Minnie : —On Saturday last, about midnight, the wind blew a whole gale from RE., sending in a tremendous sea, which drove the fine ketch Minnie on the rocks. Fortunately, the mate, the only person on board, succeeded in jetting on shore soon after the vessel struck on the rocks. The damage done to the Minnie has not yet been clearly ascertained, as on one side she is embedded in the mud. The inhabitants of the bay have rendered every assistance in their power. The mate, whose name is Benjamin Horn, tried all he could to keep the vessel from going on the rocks. ho far as can be judged, she is very much damaged; her inizenmast is gone, and sails and gear very seriously injured. Mr Thomas rawson is owner, and I do not think the linmie was insured,
