H.M.S. Brisk sailed from Wellington for England on Friday morning. The schooner Fancy arrived in harbour yesterday from the Pakihis. The Annie Brown, schooner, arrived in Melbourne on the 7th instant.

The schooner Mary Ann Christina sailed for Hokitika early on Saturday morning. The brig Fawn cleared the Customs on Saturday, and is expected to sail this morning.

The brig Princess Alice was towed in to the screw-pile jetty on Saturday morning to discharge her cargo of coals. The barque Laughing Water lias completed her loading. She was towed into the stream on Saturday by the p.s. Betsy Douglas, She will clear to-day for Meltasse. The barque Pet arrived in harbour yesterday from Newcastle, which port she left on the 3rd Sept. On the 4th, experienced strong S.E. to E. winds, which lasted four days; sighted Cape Farewell on the 14th," and passed through the Straits ou the 18th. The Pet brings a cargo of coals consigned to Messrs Montgomery and Co. The barque A. H. Badger was loaded when the Pet left.

We are glad to notice that the Government have received by the Light Brigade six large screw-pile mooring buoys for the harbour; they were landed last week, and it is intended to have two of them placed off the screw-pile jetty, and two off the Railway wharf. Vessels will thus be enabled to come to the wharves to discharge without having to let go their anchors. The schooner Canterbury, Capt. Bowten, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon, having left on the 9th, in company with the schooner Cleopatra j experienced strong N.E, gale, which lasted to the 11th; was off the Malua Peninsula on the 13th; thence had southerly gale to the night of the 17th; since then had northerly winds to the heads; sighted Godley Head light at 3 a.m. on the 20th. We are obliged to Capt. Bowten for files.

The M.A. and N. Z. Co.'s s.s. Alhambra, J. McLean, arrived in harbour on Saturday morning at 8 o'clock; left Port Phillip heads at 6.30 p.m.,on the Bth instant; passed Kent's group at 8.30 on the 9th, and arrived off Hokitiia on the 13th. Owing to there being no communication with the shore, proceeded to Greymouth, where she discharged cargo and passengers; left again on Wednesday, the 16th, and arrived on Thursday at Wellington j left at 2 p.m., on Friday, and arrived as above; experienced fine weather from Melbourne to Hokitika; from thence light variable winds. We are obliged to r Sainsbury for files. The Alhambra sailed for Dunedin and Melbourne on Saturdav night. ' KAIAPOI.
