[BX SUBIUKINE TELEGRAPH,] Wellington, June 22, 7.45 p.m. The Governor returned yesterday, The Hon. Mr Hall has directed the Auditor to prosecute the ex-Provincial Treasurer of Wellington, (Hickson) for one of several paynieuts made under warrant signed by the Provincial Solicitor, under delegation from the Superintendent to sign during his late ahsence up Coast, the Superintendent countersigning on his return. As this mode has always been adopted the prosecution is considered very bard.
A monster petition is to be presented to the Superintendent to-morrow, requesting him not to prorogue the Council whilst the Executive refuse to arrange the Slip question.
