PAPANUI PARSONAGE FUND.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE MTTEI/TON TIMES, Sin,—l observe a notice in your paper of this date, that a concert is to be given in aid of the Papanui Parsonage Fund. I have every kind feeling towards those friends, whoever they may be, who are promoting this, but I am very reluctantly obliged, for my own sake, to state that this step is being taken entirely without my concurrence, As I do not consider such methods of obtaining funds for church purposes consistent with christian principles j and as my views on this subject arc known to many of the congregation amongst whom I minister, I feel that it is only right for me to disclaim connection w th this movement. Your obedient servant, LOKENZO MOORI'), M.A., Incumbent of Papanui, Jan. 27,1868.
