Government Notices. LYTTELTON HARBOUR WORKS. NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. THE Provincial Government are prepared to receive TENDKKS for the execution of about 72,000 Cubic Yards of Embankment for t'ie reclamation of the space between Norwich Quay and the Sea-wall. The plan and specification of the work may be seen at the Provincial Engineer's Office, Christchurch, and at the Harbour Works Office, Lyttelton. Tenders to be sent in at or before noon on Tuesday, Feb. 26, to the Secretary for Public Works, Christchurch. The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest or any tender. TELEGRAPH POLES. mHE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER X is prepared to receive tenders for the supply and delivery of Telegraph Poles, to be delivered as follows : 50 at Flaxbourne 50 atKekiranga 50 at Waipapa 50 at Amuri 50 at Gore Bay 50 at Saltwater Creek. The poles to be delivered in a secure place above high water mark, to be approved by the Telegraph Engineer. The whole of the poles to be sawn out of the heart of Totara or Black Pine, to he 25 feet long, eight inches square at the base, and 6 inches sqnare at the top. Nothing but the heart of these timbers will be accepted. Tenders will be received for the whole or any portion of the above supply of poles, and must state the time within which they will be delivered. Tenders, addressed " The Telegraph Engi neer, jWellington," and endorsed "Tenders for Telegraph Poles in the Middle Island," to be sent in not later than 12 noon on the 6th March.
