Re William Watson, a Debtor.—Mr. McFarlan applied for sequestration and protection ; the consent of Mr. Graham bad been filed. Order granted, to be a vesting order under the Bth section of the Act. Re Wiluan Styche, a Debtor.—Mr. Slater applied to have the debtor discharged from custody. There were no assets in this case, and sufficient notice of the application had not been given. The judge declined to discharge the debtor, but granted a rule nisi to show cause why he should not be discharged. Rule to be heard on Thursday next. Wynn Williams v. Christchuroh Citt Cooncil.—To be heard on the 20th, by consent. Rb Birmingham, deceased. —Postponed to Friday. Rowlands v. Wakefield. —To stand over by consent to next Tuesday. Mahkr and others v. M'Beath.—This was an application for leave to amend a plea, but Dr. Foster being absect, it stands over to Friday. Re Robert Anderson, deceased. —Mr. Fereday applied for leave to register a copy of a will. Leave granted. Re J. Cox, deceased.—Mr. Garrick applied for probate. The deceased liad died at sea, and was not domiciled ip New Zealand. The judge doubted liis jurisdiction in this case, and it was ordered to stand oVer. Re Daniel Kkllaiian, a debtor.—Mr. Joynt applied for sequestration and protection, Mr. Seager to be receiver. The usual order was granted. : Re Thob. Cook, deceased. —Mr. W.Wynn Williams applied for probate, in favour of J. C. Barnard and W. W. Willock. Probate granted. Maiier v. Lloyd and Another.—Mr. Wynn Williams applied for a summons to proceed on a decree for accounts. Summons grunted for next Tuesday. Thb bamb v. the Bank of New Zealand. —In this case the plaintiff had obtained and served on defendants' manager, Mr. Coster, a decree to furnish accounts, of which the defendants had taken no notice, There was a difficulty in this case, because the defendants were a corporation, and it had been going on for a year. Mr. Wynn Williams now applied for a distringas against the defendants, to compel them to appear. His Honor said U was the first case ot the kind that, had come before him, and he would take time to consider. Mr. Williams Applied for an order to examine Mr. Buckley. Order granted for next Friday. Dixon v. Lake.—No order made, Dr. Foster being absent. Mr. Garrick applied to his Honor to sanction an Hlteration in a deed. His Honor had granted a commission to proceed to England, to examine a Mrs. Alexander, touching some property here, ond tl»e commision had found it necessary to insert in the deed constituting it, the words " and George Duncan Lockhart, to enable it to act, the conveyance of the property being to Mr. Lockhart. The judge agreed, and initialised the words inserted therein.

' The minutes d the former meeting were read and qonfirmed. The following correspondence was read Letter from Messrs. Hilton and Co., offering to supply the Council with fifty casks of cement at 25s eaoh, delivered in Lyttelton, ex Cissy. The Clerk was directed to inform Messrs. Hilton and Co. that the Council were fully supplied at present. Letter from W. Graham and Co. on the subject of delivering road metal in Dam-! pier's Bay, asking for Council to pay for an j extra eleven yards of metal, delivered over and above the contract, amounting to £3 17s. The Council agreed to do so. Also, another letter from the same firm, offering the Council a further quantity of broken metal (about 20 or 30 yards), of good quality, at 8s per yard. The amount to go towards liquidating their debt to the Council. Their offer was accepted. Letter from the Rev. James Wilson, offering the Council permission to make a road through the portion of the Somes Estate, at the upper end of Dublin street, on condition that ttie Council undertake the formation of the same. The consideration of this subject was reserved to enable the Road Committee to report upon the nature of the work. Mr. Willcox obtained leave for his motion, respecting a supply of fire pumps, to be deferred for one. week. The Council agieed to construct a stone channel, 57 yards in length, in London-street, from Canterbury-street to Mr. Belgrave's hotel. ' The clerk was directed to advertise for tenders at once; the tenders to be sent in by Monday, the 19th instant. The clerk was directed to apply to the Provinciul Government for a sum of £1000, in part payment of the amount due to the Council, and to ask, if the application could not be complied with, to request the Government to guarantee the overdraft at the Bank of New Zealand. ✓ After ordering the following accounts to be paid, the Council adjourned till Monday, February 19. £ b. d.
