Our Melbourne correspondent mentions a rumor, which is also published by the Australian papers, that the Imperial Government have decided that New Zealand is to be the head-quarters of the troops in the Southern colonies. General Pratt, of " sap" notoriety, is reported to have resigned his command. —Ota go Daily Times, April 4. In connection with the new arrangements in respect to the head-quarters of the military force in the South Pacific, the ' Argus ' states that General Cameron has been recalled from New Zealand. We cannot think that this rumor has any foundation; at any rate, it is very improbable that General Cameron would be recalled at the present crisis.—lbid,
