These sections have all a large frontage upon the Town Belt and the proposed Railway Terminus and will be submitted at the upset price of £100 per quarter acre. The steamer Avon and several schooners have already made several successful trips to this Township, and sailed thence for Lyttelton with large cargoes of Wool: the question therefore of the navigation of the Saltwater Creek is now finally determined, and the result is found in the considerable enhancement in value of the adjoining properties. The Saltwater Creek has become the only outlet for the large agricultural districts surrounding the township, which' must be shipped at this port, and through which the Supplies for the Town of Sefton and the whole of the northern districts must pass : the river frontages have consequently acquired considerable value and are now commanding prices much in advance of the original purchase money. Stores are now being erected, and other buildings are in progress, together with a large Flour Mill in the immediate vicinity which has already been contracted for and will soon be commenced.
