NOTICE. i PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY TO WIT. KAIAPOI DISTRICT. WHERERAS a Writ under the hand of Thomas Gore Browne, Esquire. Companion of the most honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the colony of New Zealand, &c, &c, bearing date the Fourteenth day of July, m the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight I Hundred and Fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, William Cockerill Beswick, Esquire, as Returning Officer for the District of Kaiapoi, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, two legally qualified persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council, for the said district of Kaiapoi: Now s> therefore, I, the said William CockerillBeswick, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Kaiapoi District, will be holden at the Court House, Kaiapoi, on Friday, the 6th day of November next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating two persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the said Kaiapoi District; and, in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates or any of them, such polling shall take place on Monday, the 9th day of November next, at the Court House, Kaiapoi. TTTHEREAS a Writ under the hand of V y Thomas Gore Browne, Esquire, Companion of the most honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c, &c, bearing date the Fourteenth day of July, in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, Robert Latter, as Returning Officer for the town of Lyttelton, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected, by the voters duly qualified forjthat purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, four legally qualified persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the said town of Lyttelton : Now therefore I, the said Robert Latter, Returning-Qfficer for the said town of liyttelton, do herebyiln pursuance of the said recited writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the said town of Lyttelton will be holden at the Court House, Lyttelton, on Monday, the 2nd day of November next, at Noon, for the purpose of nominating four persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the said town of Lytfcelton ; and, in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates or any of them, such polling shall take place on Tuesday, the 3rd day of November next, at the Court House, at Lyttelton. Esquire, Companion of the most honourable order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the colony of New Zealand, &c, &c, bearing date the Fourteenth da} r of July, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, Frederick Noble Campbell, Esquire, as Returning-Officer for the District of Port Victoria, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the voters duly qualified for that purpose freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, two legally persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the said district of Port Victoria : Now, therefore, I, the said Frederick Noble Campbell, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Port Victoria District will be holden at the Court House, Lyttelton, on Monday, the 2nd day of November next, at Noon, for the purpose of nominating two persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council, for the said Port Victoria District; and, in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates or any of them, such polling shall take place on Wednesday, the 4th day of November next, at the following polling places, viz:— At Mr. Rhodes's House, Purau; Mr. Blatchford's House, Governor's Bay ; and at the Court House, Lyttelton.
