We learn from a private letter of the 19th September, that the Cabin berths of the " Minerva" were all taken ; we anticipate, therefore, that she would sail at her appointed time, the end of September, and may now be hourly expected. A correspondent, in a letter which we have no space to publish this W2ek, calls the attention of those interested in the advancement of the Settlement, to the necessity which now exists for establishing a weekly market in Christchurch. Plots of ground have been reserved in Lyttelton and Christchurch for Market-places, and a desire now seems to prevail that they should he made available. It will be to the advantage of all classes that some fixed spot should be selected for the purposes of buying and selling, especially in a scattered community like that of Christchurch, where goods are brought in from long distances and the fatigue of hawking them about is excessive. Our correspondent recommends that those desirous of a weekly market should meet and pledge themselves to carry out the object.
