The mid-week change of programme at the Opera House last mght was a highly interesting one, the star drama, *A Siren of Corsica,' containing ali those elements necessary to carry an audience with it. The story opens in. Nice, the leading character being a fascinating young Corsican lady. She entangles a wealthy American named SeMen, who is on a visii to. Monte Carlo. The incident serves to plaojt a weapon in the hands of a rival, who has sued for the* hand of the American's wife. He snapshots the two and carries the photo to the wife, thereby causing an estrangement. The Corsican follows Selden to America, and in a scene the rival is shot by accident by the Corsican. Selden is accused of manslaughter, found guilty, and sen- ' tenced to ten years' imprisonment. His wife then takes up a clue, in the shape of a letter, and the crime is finally sheeted home to the Corsican. "The Terror of the Mountains" was another good drama, in which a notorious highwayman plays a prominent part. There were several most laughable comics, the Pathe Gazette, and the conference of the British and French Ministers of War. The programme will be repeated to-night.
