WOUNDED

WANGANUI, May 3

A private cable states that Lieut. F. K. Turnbull, solicitor, of Wanganui, anember of the first expeditionary force for Egypt, has been wounded, and is in the Alexandria Hospital.

BLENHEIM, May 3. A cable has been received stating that Lieutenant Owen Mead was .-slightly wounded at the Dardanelles.

Turnbull is, of course, well known in Hawera, being the .younger son of the late Mr Turnbull <who died while holding the Stipendiary Magistracy . here) and Mrs Turnbull, jiow resident at Wanganui. He was -educated at Wanganui Collegiate School and subsequently took his LL.B. decree. Many friends here will sympathise with Mrs Turnbull and hope to hear soon that her son is on a fair way to complete recovery. It may be added that Mrs Turn bull's other son, who settled in Canada, is also at the war serving in the Engineers' Corps.]
