Official—The Allies' left wing has resumed the offensive in the' Bethune district, opposed by cavalry. Progress is recorded between-Albert and Arras, also in Berry-au-bac.

Slight advances' have been made west of Argonne and between Argonne and the Meuse.

The Allies are holding -the heights of the Meuse east of Verdun, and a little ground on the right in the Api-e----mont region.

Lille, previously held by Territorials, has been occupied by a German corps.

A summary of operations indicates appreciable progress has been made by the Allies at several points.

The Austrians are' trying to re-form their forces west of Przemysl.

LONDON, Oct. 14

Reliable.—lt is now stated that the sie^e of Przemysl is proceeding.

The Germans are -removing their heavy arms from Antwerp to their extreme left-wing.

It is reported that the Kiel Canal has been closed to permit Germans Jbo experiment with the .new navy guns fixed on Dreadnoughts. "
