BICYCLE ROAD RACE,

SYDNEY. August 15.
The weather was fine and the roads in good condition for the New South Wales road race, but the riders had to contend against a strong head wind all the way. A thousand. people witnessed the finish at Ashfield. ' Ninetyreight cyclists started.
Turner, who had 48 minutes' start, covered the distance of 133 k miles in 8 hours 4min and won; Paterson, with 42 minutes' start, taking 8 hours 14 mm 53sec, ivas second, and Hyslop, with 52 minutes' start, 8 hours 24min 41aec, third. Larcombe, scratch, who finished ninth, put up the fastest time, viz., 7 hours 53min 40sec; and Keefe (Tasmania), 20 minutes' start,' [being second fastest, 7min 57seo. Summers (New Zealand) finished in the ruck.
