ANGLICAN SYNOD.
NAPIER, This Day. The Synod only sat this afternoon. The proceedings were not of a very interesting character, the chief part of the time being occupied in discussing a motion by Archdeacon Williams for preparing a digest of the Statutes of Synod. The motion was ultimately carried. The Bishop of Wellington caused a little sensation by giving notice of a motion strongly condemning as not in accordance with tbe instructions of Synod the bill for the incorporation of Diocesan Trust Boards, introduced into Parliament last session, but not carried. Archdeacon Stock tabled a motion for the definition of the word " Communicant," but withdrew it at the suggestion of the Bishop of Nelson, who advised him to bring in a bill at once.
