The demand for horse meat ha grown to such au extent in Germany that it is beginning to be difficult to supply it. Horses for butchering now cost from £5 to £lO, where formerly they could have been purchased for one-tenth that amount. It is now proposed to import horseflesh from the United States. The Parthenon at Athens is to be restored at once according to the plans for repairs made by tho German Professor Dunn.
