Auckland, 'Wednesday,—The election for the city is taking place to-day amidst great, excitement. Taenia, Tuesday. -Miss Nellie Lawless was badly burned to-day when getting dinner ready. Enveloped in flames, sin' rushed outside and threw herself into a pool of mud and extinguished the fire. She is in a critical condition, Wellington, Tuesday.—The financial statement will be delivered on Friday.
